After serving in the South African Army, Chad Worked for nine years doing research and development with a company in the South African defense industry.
In 1999 he started a career in IT with the Standard Bank of South Africa, and in January 2001 moved to London to work with a global software company specializing in software and services for utility companies.
In the 20 years since then, Chad has gained experience of working in over 40 countries with all types of utility companies, from small municipal companies to large, investor-owned deregulated utilities, including being the IT applications manager for one of the largest utility companies in Dublin.
His responsibilities have included roles in solution design, sales, project management, industry strategy, and business consulting, and he has managed teams ranging in size from small, specialized projects, to the EMEA regional team of a large software corporation.
